The Wineslinger 2021 list of Australia’s top places for wine fun is here, with Canberra’s Top 5 showing just how exciting a wine destination the nation’s capital is right now.
With a raft of exceptional new venues sweeping the nation’s capital over the last few years, few can deny that cold old Canberra is turning the heat right up, leaving locals and guests suddenly spoilt for choice. Buildings historic and brand spanking are being transformed into fresh bars, restaurants and drink-in wine stores, from the low-key to those diving deep into the night, and with them the offerings are being reinvented to staggering heights with cutting-edge menus and wine selections to match.
Whether you find yourself in the neighbourhood precincts or city centre, a fresh crop of establishments awaits the intrepid traveller keen to try Canberra’s rejuvenated scene. Often overlooked, it’s easy to forget that Canberra is fringed with some of the country’s wineries, keeping this now-vibrant city in good stead with the likes of Melbourne and Sydney. But it’s not just local bottlings filling the shelves and lists of the capitals best wine-centric venues, rather those wines nestle comfortably up against some of the best from across the country and around the world. Canberra’s Top 5 Wineslingers is where the action’s at.
