Cavedon Wines is a small family run vineyard and wine business located in Whitfield, King Valley.
We’re predominantly a contract grape growing vineyard, with over 45 years of of grape growing experience. We’re now in an exciting growth phase of our existing wine label, as well as expanding our vineyard machinery contract business.
We are seeking a permanent fulltime employee to join our small family team.
* We are focused on producing high quality wine grapes and creating a unique range of King Valley wines (Young Gun of Wine finalists 2021 & 2022).
* We grow an array of varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Albariño, Prosecco, Gewürztraminer, Tempranillo, Mencia & Gruner Veltliner
* We are currently planting new blocks and are always exploring new varieties and grape growing ideas
* We are fully resourced with modern and efficient vineyard harvesting, pruning and spraying machines.
We’re looking for a motivated person with a passion for the industry, to work closely with us across all areas of the business from the vineyard to the cellar.
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with existing vineyard experience in pruning, vine training and vineyard machinery operations.
General responsibilities will include:
• Pruning/Vine training/Canopy management
• Irrigation operation/repairs
• Weed/Disease/Pest management
• Vineyard machinery operation & maintenance
• Undertake other day-to-day operations of the vineyard as required.
• Undertake winery work as required
Ideally you possess the following:
* General knowledge and experience in viticultural activities
* Experience in machinery operation and daily maintenance
* A willingness to operate all machinery in the vineyard once fully trained.
* A strong work ethic
* A passion for viticulture
* Cellar hand/winery experience
* A Forklift and HR truck licence
* The physical fitness and resilience required for year-round outdoor work in varying conditions
