"Clover Hill was established in 1986 for the sole purpose of producing world-class sparkling wine. The 66-hectare, Pipers River site was selected for its rich soils, natural sloping amphitheatre and maritime climate. The vineyard is planted to the traditional varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, producing its inaugural vintage in 1991. Clover Hill’s reputation for uncompromising quality, elegance and finesse has been recognised with numerous accolades, including induction into the Australian Sparkling Hall of Honour, Winestate’s Australasian Sparkling Wine of the Year and Tasmanian Vineyard of the Year, twice. Clover Hill was humbled when its Vintage Brut was proudly served during Princess Mary and Prince Frederick’s wedding celebration. "Originally planted in 1973 by George and Priscilla Park, Stoney Vineyard—the home of Domaine A—is the oldest vineyard in the Coal River Valley. "One of Tasmania’s oldest wineries (the first vines went in 1958), Moorilla is now home to the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona), having been bought out of receivership by gambler David Walsh in 1995. As well as the vineyard and a massive museum, the site is home to a very fancy winery where winemaker Conor van der Reest and his team produce the Praxis, Muse and Cloth Label ranges. The Moorilla cellar door is a glassy, airy space offering tours, tastings and relaxed environs in which to sip a glass of Moorilla (or Domaine A) plonk.
