About this Deep Dive Pack
Three bottles. One blind tasting. The wines proving Australia has found its own language for the world’s most captivating grape.
Nebbiolo is one of those words that dims the room. For those held in its thrall, no grape quite compares — fragrantly pretty and floral on one hand, ruggedly tannic and mineral on the other, often both at once. It’s the great grape of Piedmont, home to Barolo and Barbaresco, two of Italy’s most revered wines. It also happens to be making some of the most exciting bottles in Australia right now. To find out which, we gathered every Australian nebbiolo we could find and tasted them blind against a panel of winemakers, sommeliers and wine buyers — with one brief: find the wines that compel. The Nebbiolo Deep Dive Pack gives you direct access to that tasting. Rather than picking a single bottle off the shelf, you’re getting a curated trio assembled from the wines our panel rated most highly — a cross-section of Australian nebbiolo’s remarkable range, from delicate, floral, almost pinot-like expressions through to deeper, more structured, tar-and-roses driven styles that can go bottle for bottle with the best from Piedmont.
How it works
Reserve your pack now with a 10% deposit. Pooling demand across our customers lets us secure the best-performing wines from the Deep Dive tasting at the best value and in proper allocation – rather than locking in a fixed list before we know what’s available. Once your pack is confirmed, we’ll take the remaining 90% from your nominated payment details and ship immediately, with your three wines and full tasting notes revealed in your My Cellar at that point. Wines are expected to ship in September.

The story behind the category
Nebbiolo’s Australian story is still young — and that’s precisely what makes it so exciting. Where pinot noir took decades to find its footing here, our panel found Australian nebbiolo already speaking the language of the variety with remarkable fluency, from cool elevated sites in the King Valley, Adelaide Hills, Alpine Valleys and Yarra Valley through to Beechworth, the Pyrenees and beyond. The wines arriving in Australian glasses now are increasingly fine-boned, aromatic and expressive of their sites — and at price points that make even their Italian counterparts look expensive. As one panellist put it: these wines are at the very beginning of their journey, and it is already extraordinary.
