On Sunday 4th August, Giorgio de Maria and French Saloon are hosting a Sunday lunch with Ar.Pe.Pe winemaker and current custodian, Isabella Perego.
Ar.Pe.Pe (Arturo Pelizzatti Perego) sits in Valtellina near the border with Switzerland. This Italian Alpine region in the north of Lombardy revolves around the red grape chiavennasca (aka nebbiolo).
Isabella will delve into the main terroirs of Sassella and Grumello, guiding you through the wines and region. French Saloon Head Chef, Todd Moses, has designed a four-course menu based on the dishes and ingredients of Valtellina.
Importer Giorgio de Maria and French Saloon’s Wine Buyer, Russell Keightley, will be pouring the wines, mainly from magnum format (as well as a jeroboam), with vintages dating back to 1999, as well as finishing with an Ar.Pe.Pe grappa.
