Following the sell-out success of last year’s event, Young Gun of Wine UNCUT is back, with another new wave of Australian winemakers breaking on the beaches of Cottesloe.
The event will show some of Australia’s most cutting edge winemaking. Held at Il Lido Italian Canteen from 1-4pm, more than 20 winemakers will pour their wares over a three hour “la dolce vita” Friday luncheon, with antipasti, pasta and cheese served canapé style.
Acclaimed sommelier, and Il Lido partner, Dan Wegener offered the following advice for local wine lovers: “Last year’s event sold-out and saw the best of Australia’s new winemakers bumping shoulders with Perth’s vino faithful. Since, we’ve seen an influx of young gun producers infiltrate the Perth scene, so use December 1 as your yardstick for what’s about to get HOT around town.”
Virginia Willcock of Vasse Felix will be there, too: “At Vasse Felix we believe in creative thinking and we happen to be a pioneer of Margaret River so we’re supporting Young Gun of Wine because it’s uncovering the creative future pioneers of the industry. We’re super excited to see the young guns gather in Perth on December 1. From those refining the classics, to the experimental, this group always offers new drinks to make you think!”
